What is important to working age people living with myeloma?

Project status: completed

The aim of this research was to better understand the needs of people who are younger than the average age of patients diagnosed with myeloma. MPE wanted to understand better what is important to this younger than average group, and what their needs and priorities are. This evidence is needed to inform future research and the care and treatment of patients. MPE worked with the University of Stirling to conduct this research.

The research was carried out in two phases; 1) a systematic literature review, where published literature was synthesised, and 2) interviews with working age myeloma patients in the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland.

Our report has further details including recommendations for practice, policy and research.

We’d like to thank all the patients who took part in the interviews, our steering committee, and the member organisations who helped with recruitment. Funding was obtained from Pfizer to support this project.
