Assessment of the needs of patient organisations during the COVID-19 pandemic

To understand how we could best help, MPE conducted research to learn more about the impact of the pandemic and lockdown measures, and the needs of patients, carers and member organisations. A survey of 28 members in April 2021 revealed a significant emotional and psychosocial impact, as well as treatment delays and problems accessing wider healthcare and support services in some countries. Although members were adapting, some had concerns over their financial resilience and future organisational sustainability. Read the full report here.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the healthcare and lives of people with myeloma or AL amyloidosis and their caregivers

Through our COVID-19 Outreach Workstream, and as part of our mission to provide education, information, and support to members and to advocate at European, national, and local levels, MPE began research to learn more about the effects of COVID-19 on the patient community.

MPE has published a report summarising the results of a series of semi-structured focus groups conducted to collect personal experiences and broader insights from patients and caregivers. Read the full report here.
